Katy Perry and Alesso have dropped a sneak peek behind the scenes of their latest music video for the song “When I’m Gone.”
There’s no place in this world where I’ll fit in when I’m gone And I won’t know the correct path to take when I’m gone And you won’t hear me singing on this tune when I’m gone So I suppose I’ll have to make the most of it while I’m here And I won’t sense the passage of time when I’m gone.
I won’t experience all the joys of love once I’m no longer here. My partner won’t be writing any romantic songs about me when I’m gone. Therefore, I need to express my love now while I’m still around. I won’t be able to breathe in the fresh air or even worry about my responsibilities once I’m gone. No one will ask me to do my part when I’m no longer here. So, I have to make the most of my time here and not run away from anything.
When I depart and no longer feel pain, I can’t determine who should receive praise or blame when I’m gone. So, I suppose I’ll have to handle it while I’m still here. I won’t witness the beauty of the sun or experience the changing days and nights once I’m gone. I can’t outshine the guns with my singing when I’m gone. Therefore, I guess I’ll have to make a difference while I’m still present. My days won’t always be filled with joy, and the landscapes will slowly fade from my view when I’m gone. I will not be able to join the fight once I’m gone.
I suppose I’ll have to make the most of my time here and not dwell on the falsehoods when I’m gone. It’s hard to understand the how, when, or why once I’ve passed on. Unable to find contentment even in death. In this world, there’s no place for me when I’m gone, and distinguishing right from wrong will be impossible. You won’t hear me singing in this tune when I’m gone. I guess I’ll have to make the best of it while I’m still here.
